ABOUT WCOPA:

WCOPA is an opportunity, made possible only through the Malaysian Championship and opened to all performers – amateurs and professionals.  Join Team Malaysia to experience the entertainment world at the entertainment capital of the world – Hollywood!

Prior to 2017, the selection of Team Malaysia was done under the program name Worldstars, Road To Hollywood.  However, to be in line and to reflect more of the main competition in Hollywood, we are now calling it the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

The World Championship is the only premier international “Olympic-styled” competition for performing arts with an emphasis on accurate professional Hollywood entertainment industry education and experiences.  Participants in the World Championship go through the process similar to other Hollywood hopefuls in the competition and have the opportunity to learn from experts in the industry in a power-packed Worldstars Bootcamp.

Hence, participating in the World Championship of Performing Arts is not just about competition, it’s the opportunity to learn and experience Hollywood-style and network with industry movers and shakers from Hollywood, Nashville and New York plus comparing and acknowledging your talent vis-à-vis thousands from around the world!  This is what separates WCOPA from all the other competitions and this is why also MATME is dedicated to bringing Team Malaysia to Hollywood.

MATME Sdn. Bhd. have been bringing Team Malaysia to WCOPA since 2005.  Todate, we have brought more than 140 participants to the World Championship.  From an unknown, third-world country back in 2005, Malaysia is today very much respected and feared amongst the top performers and loved by many of the Hollywood producers.  It is not surprising because todate, Team Malaysia have won a total of 7 Grand Champion of the World awards in the categories of Dance, Vocal and Instrumental.  Impressively, we have also took home 172 Gold medals, 157 Silver, 61 Bronze and 124 Champion of the World (divisional champion) plague!  Who dare to say Malaysians are not talented?

From just a mere 20 participating countries back in 2005, today we have about 64 countries and about 5,000 contestants competing in the World Championship.  This has created a very tough and strong competition amongst the participants in all the categories.  And it is for this reason that we have to work harder to select very talented performers to represent the country.
